Kris Goetz Joins The Chartis Group as a Principal in the Performance Practice

Kris Goetz recently joined the firm as a Principal focused on partnerships and merger integration.

Today, The Chartis Group, a leading healthcare advisory and analytics firm, announced that Kris Goetz recently joined the firm as a Principal in the Performance practice focused on partnerships and integration. 

“Kris is a terrific addition to the Chartis team and brings great experience assisting merging clients to realize demonstrable value,” said Ann Edwards, Performance Director and Partnership Co-Leader at The Chartis Group. “Achieving meaningful integration starts well before a combination closes, and Kris’s deep expertise in hospital operations and integration strategy and execution will help us expand our reach as we guide our clients through the path of realizing the business objectives of their merger through integration including quantified operational and clinical efficiencies, enhanced care access and quality, and ultimately, improved care delivery in our clients’ communities.” 

With 20 years of healthcare experience and more than 10 years of management consulting experience, Goetz brings significant expertise in hospital operations and integration to Chartis. Goetz’s experience includes leading hospitals through major performance improvement initiatives while ensuring exceptional patient outcomes. With a particular focus on workforce operations, he advises hospitals on the best way to improve efficiencies, reduce waste, and eliminate redundancies.

Most recently, Goetz led a merger integration for a major academic medical center that acquired a community health system. The scope included integrating clinical, non-clinical, and back-office operations, unifying the supply chain, understanding opportunities to improve revenue cycle operations, and centralizing care coordination functions.

Prior to joining Chartis, Goetz was a Senior Vice President of Performance Improvement at Kaufman Hall. In addition, he held numerous leadership positions at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, including Director of Operations, Manager of Performance and Innovation, and Process Improvement Leader. He was accountable for the hospital’s patient care budget and directing improvement portfolios related to patient safety, satisfaction, and hospital throughput. He also served as Interim Director of both the Emergency Department and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. 

Prior to Northwestern, Goetz spent five years at Solucient (now Truven Analytics), consulting with hospitals on operational assessments and financial improvement initiatives.

Goetz has authored dozens of articles on best practices in performance improvement and routinely speaks at conferences nationwide. He holds an Master of Arts in clinical psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Eastern Illinois University, where he also served as a Board Trustee from 2011 to 2017.
