Chartis, a leading healthcare advisory firm, announced today that Jeff Weiss has joined the firm as Managing Partner to co-lead Strategic Transformation. A seasoned executive with more than 30 years in the industry, Weiss’ vast strategy experience spans the public and private sectors.

At Chartis, Weiss will lead a team of professionals focused on helping clients structure and manage strategic partnerships, negotiate complex agreements, implement strategy and manage change, drive innovation, and engage in effective board governance.

“On behalf of the leadership team, we’re thrilled to welcome Jeff to the firm,” said Chartis President Greg Maddrey. “His proven track record directing complex provider transformation engagements, extensive leadership in the public sector, and rich history of leading high- performing teams make him ideally suited to help our clients reshape healthcare for the better.”

Prior to joining Chartis, Weiss was the Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer at Mass General Brigham, overseeing strategy, system transformation, clinical partnerships and M&A, and diversified businesses. He previously served as president of Lesley University and spent nearly 30 years in consulting, most notably as partner and co-founder of Vantage Partners, where he led the firm’s healthcare and IT practices. Before Vantage, Weiss was a partner at Conflict Management, Inc. and co-founded Conflict Management Group (now part of Mercy Corps), both growing out of the Harvard Negotiation Project.

Weiss has taught at Dartmouth’s Tuck School and the U.S. Military Academy, co-founded the West Point Negotiation Project, and lectures annually at the Army War College. He is a recipient of West Point’s Apgar Award for innovation in teaching and the Army’s Commander’s and Outstanding Civilian Service Medals. A frequent contributor to Harvard Business Review, Weiss also authored the HBR Guide to Negotiating.

Weiss holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Dartmouth and a JD from Harvard Law School.
