Carl Dolezal, a Principal with The Chartis Group, has over 15 years of experience as a healthcare information technology (IT) leader in planning, implementing and managing healthcare information systems. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and his extensive planning and program management expertise spans change leadership and the performance improvement and workflow redesign necessary to drive value from IT investments. He has led multiple technology related planning and implementation initiatives in the following domains: population health management and EMR system selections, patient portal implementation and operation, new service development, meaningful use, quality of care, telemedicine, population health management and patient engagement. He has significant IT leadership and operations experience managing multiple clinical applications and application support teams, as well as experience working with executive leadership to develop long-term strategic plans for clinical system rollouts.
Mr. Dolezal’s clients have included leading national and regional health systems and academic medical centers. His recent work involves system selections for population health management and electronic medical record solutions, pre-implementation planning, data governance and population health management planning related to multiple New York State DSRIP programs including PHM system selection, pre-implementation planning, data governance and project management office program design and training. He also has experience planning for IT solutions to support the formation of a multi-organization statewide Accountable Care Organization (ACO).
Prior to joining The Chartis Group, Mr. Dolezal held multiple IT leadership positions within academic medical centers including the University of Texas Medical Branch and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Mr. Dolezal earned a Master of Health Administration from Texas State University, a Master of Management Information Systems from the University of Houston Clear Lake, a graduate certificate in e-business management from the University of Houston and a Bachelor of Science in biology from Texas Lutheran University.
