Travis Ish is an Engagement Manager in the Chartis Revenue Cycle Transformation practice. He has over four years of professional healthcare and consulting experience in revenue cycle, denials management, system implementations, vendor relationships, operational assessments, community outreach, marketing, and support of public policy for provider systems.
Recently, Travis supported the design and implementation of Epic Resolute Hospital and Professional Billing for a large academic medical center. He has also worked to improve denials management processes at multiple academic medical centers across the country and is experienced in leveraging both qualitative and quantitative data to identify areas of financial opportunity across the revenue cycle. He has worked closely with clinicians and relevant information technology stakeholders to develop and deliver Soarian training to clinical appeals nurses. His work to evaluate third-party revenue cycle vendor relationships involved in-depth analysis of vendor performance against existing contract Service Level Agreements, as well as the development of recommendations to improve vendor performance and strengthen future contracts. Additionally, his support of both onsite and virtual Epic Go-Lives has involved coordinating multiple groups of SuperUsers, deploying contracted at-the-elbow support, triaging issues via a remote call center, and developing executive-level report outs.
Prior to joining Chartis, Travis interned at the University of Texas Health Science Center – San Antonio, Texas and CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Medical Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico. During these internships, Travis participated in conducting an operational readiness assessment for the adoption of ICD-10, assisted with a “Patients First” initiative to create customer service training for frontline staff, and worked with the VP of Public Policy and Stakeholder Engagement on improving community perception at a 200-bed regional medical center.
Travis is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), as well as a Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR), Certified Specialist in Business Intelligence (CSBI), and he has presented on emerging trends in Digital Health to the MSHA students at Trinity University.
Travis received his Master of Science in Healthcare Administration and his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Trinity University.
