Samantha (Samme) Diaz

Samme Diaz brings 17 years of progressive experience in healthcare IT, specializing in IT strategy, infrastructure management, and clinical system implementation. She is a results-driven leader with a proven record of managing multimillion-dollar budgets and leading large, cross-functional teams across hospitals, clinics, and surgical centers. Samme excels in optimizing IT operations, driving process improvements, and implementing organizational change to enhance performance and efficiency. Her expertise includes vendor negotiations, enterprise service delivery, and aligning technology investments with strategic business goals to achieve measurable results and cost savings.    

Prior to joining Chartis, Samme served as Vice President and Digital Strategy Service Line Leader at Healthlink Advisors, where she led a team of consultants delivering digital solutions that advanced client growth, operational efficiency, and transformation initiatives. Previously, she held multiple leadership roles at HCA Healthcare, including Chief Information Officer for the HCA MidAmerica Division, Director of Technical Operations, and Director of Physician Services, providing strategic direction and oversight for large-scale IT and clinical application programs across hospitals and physician practices. Earlier in her career with HCA IT&S, Samme served as Interim Director of IT for Physician Services Group, Manager of Application Services for EMR, and Division EMR Market-Based Analyst, leading EMR implementations, optimization efforts, and user adoption. She began her career as a Physician Support Coordinator at HCA Brandon Regional Hospital, supporting clinical technology integration and physician engagement.

Samme is a recognized voice on health IT trends and workforce challenges. She has been featured on This Week Health’s Newsday discussing EHR-driven nurse burnout and readiness for transformation, and has served as a panelist at HIMSS events, including the Silo Social Season Kick-off CIO Panel. She contributes to published perspectives on IT strategy, clinical application optimization, and digital transformation. Samme is an active member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and other professional organizations advancing health IT leadership and innovation.

Samme holds a Master of Business Administration in Health Care Administration and Management from Western Governors University. She earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Health Services Administration from St. Petersburg College and an Associate of Arts in Chemistry from the University of North Florida.
