John Coyle

Senior Partner, AI and Digital Strategy Leader

John Coyle is a Senior Partner and AI and Digital Strategy Leader within the Chartis Center for AI & Digital Transformation. He advises Boards and executive leadership teams on enterprise strategy, operating model transformation, and technology modernization. His work focuses on helping health systems translate AI, automation, and digital capabilities into measurable gains in mission performance, financial sustainability, care delivery, and health equity.

John is known for building and leading high-performing, multidisciplinary teams to define enterprise-wide strategic ambition, redesign patient and provider experiences, and modernize core operating processes and digital platforms. He helps organizations embed AI-enabled operating models at enterprise scale and partners closely with clients from strategy development through execution and measurable outcomes. He sets ambitious expectations, encourages teams to “swing for the fences,” and invests deeply in helping people achieve more than they thought possible, fostering a unified, high-accountability culture.

Prior to joining Chartis, John held senior leadership roles across leading advisory firms. At Alvarez & Marsal, he led AI and Digital for Healthcare. At Boston Consulting Group, he led the digital business transformation practice across healthcare providers, payers, and health services organizations. At Oliver Wyman Health & Life Sciences, he founded and led the Strategic IT & Operations practice. Earlier in his career at Accenture, he served as the North American leader for IT Strategy and Transformation in Healthcare and Public Service. Across these roles, he has guided large, integrated delivery networks and national payers through enterprise growth initiatives, performance improvement, and large-scale organizational and digital transformation.

While at Accenture, he was selected for corporate sponsorship to attend the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He earned a Bachelor of Science, with Distinction, in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
