Ali Paasimaa is a Senior Partner at Chartis and serves as Head of the Leap AI Studio within the Chartis Center for AI & Digital Transformation (CCAID). He brings over 25 years of technology and business leadership experience from startups to Fortune 100. Ali specializes in generative AI product development and companywide technology strategy and operating model transformations, helping leadership teams build modern AI engineering capabilities and agentic solutions to stay ahead of rapid AI change and shape what comes next.
Ali combines board-level advisory with hands-on product and technology leadership. He founded and led LeapAI, a generative AI venture studio that innovated and tested 100+ AI-powered business and product ideas across healthcare and life sciences. He has also developed global technology strategies of more than 20 leading brands across 10+ industries and directed enterprise transformations including multi-billion-dollar mergers and global operating model redesigns. Prior to his strategy and venturing career, Ali led forward deployed engineering (FDE) of a Silicon Valley startup (acquired by IBM) and built more than 50 production implementations across telecom, payments, transportation, retail, and medical devices.
Ali’s deep governance and operator experience includes having served as chairman of multiple companies and new ventures, as well leadership roles at global consulting firms. He served as US CEO & Chair and Group EVP Corporate Strategy at Reaktor, a leading software agency, Managing Director at PwC Advisory, and leadership roles at EY Private Equity and Accenture Strategy. His technology strategy client experience spans many of the leading high-tech companies, as well as industry leaders in financial services, retail, media, industrials, and healthcare.
Ali holds an M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Computer Science and Business Economics from the University of Helsinki, and certificates in corporate board governance from UC Berkeley Haas School of Business and the Private Directors Association.
