Michael Tsia

Director

Michael Tsia is a Director in Strategic Transformation and co-leads the Academic Alignment practice. He serves as an advisor for executive leaders at leading academic health centers, children’s hospitals, and integrated health systems on numerous topics, including enterprise strategy, physician and organizational alignment, funds flow/economic alignment, service line development, and provider workforce planning.

Michael's recent experience includes developing a clinical enterprise strategic plan for a leading academic health system, working with system and physician leaders to craft a five-year strategic vision and prioritize strategies to grow clinical programs, radically reimagine the ambulatory network, launch additional value-based care initiatives, and align the physician enterprise. He also designed a “next-generation” funds flow model for a leading academic health center on the East Coast that aligns department incentives with enterprise strategic goals and re-aligns entities within the School of Medicine and physician practice plan to optimally support future growth. Additional recent projects include formulating regional service line strategic plans and creating a comprehensive provider workforce planning approach for a large multi-state health system.

Michael also serves as the Board Vice-Chairman for the University of Southern California (USC) Arcadia Hospital and leads the Board Planning Committee.

Michael holds a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University and a B.A. in Political Science and B.S. in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.
