Mark B. Wenneker, MD
Mark B. Wenneker, MD is a Principal with The Chartis Group and a leader of the Physician Alignment segment in the Strategic and Economic Planning practice. Dr. Wenneker has over 25 years of experience in healthcare as a practicing primary care physician and healthcare consultant. He has held leadership positions at an academic Medical Center and a large regional managed care organization. In his consulting work, Dr. Wenneker focuses on supporting the design and implementation of physician-hospital/system alignment models in community hospitals, hospital systems and academic medical centers. He has a national reputation for implementing approaches that successfully engage physician leaders and practicing leaders in organizational change at the enterprise and clinical service line level.
Before joining Chartis in 2014, Dr. Wenneker was a Director with Navigant Consulting and The Bard Group - a physician owned and led consulting firm. Dr. Wenneker has worked with many of the nation's top health systems and academic medical centers on hospital and systemwide physician leadership strategy as well as the development of service lines and clinically integrated networks. He has been at the forefront of national efforts to develop quality improvement initiatives for hospitals, group practices and managed care organizations. Integral to all of his work is leadership coaching and development of physician leaders.
Dr. Wenneker is a board-certified internist. He received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and a Master of Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health with a concentration in health services administration. Dr. Wenneker holds a Bachelor of Arts in history and science from Harvard College where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude.
