Mark B. Wenneker, MD
Mark B. Wenneker, MD is a Principal with The Chartis Group and leader of the Chartis Behavioral Health Service Line segment and supports physician alignment engagements through his leadership in the Chartis Physician Leadership Institute. Dr. Wenneker has over 25 years of experience in healthcare as a practicing primary care physician and healthcare consultant. He has held leadership positions at both an academic medical center and a large regional managed care organization.
In his consulting work, Dr. Wenneker has worked with many of the nation’s top health systems, community hospitals and academic medical centers on the development of behavioral health and other clinical service line strategies, clinically integrated networks and physician-hospital alignment models. Dr. Wenneker has a national reputation for implementing approaches that successfully engage physician leaders and practicing leaders in organizational change at the enterprise and clinical service line level. Integral to all of his work is coaching and development of physician leaders. He has also been at the forefront of national efforts to develop quality improvement initiatives for hospitals, group practices and managed care organizations. His most recent clients include Beth Israel Lahey Health, Houston Methodist Hospital, the Carle Clinic and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center/Geisel School of Medicine.
Prior to joining Chartis in 2014, Dr. Wenneker was a Director with Navigant Consulting and The Bard Group - a physician owned and led consulting firm.
Dr. Wenneker received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and a Master of Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health with a concentration in health services administration. Dr. Wenneker holds a Bachelor of Arts in history and science from Harvard College.
