Sue Anderson is a Senior Partner in Strategic Transformation. She has more than 20 years of healthcare management consulting experience advising hospitals, health systems, academic medical centers, and physician practices. Her work is concentrated in strategy development, service line strategic planning, partnership development, strategic options assessment, and organizational design.
Sue’s recent client work spans a wide range of strategic initiatives. She has designed comprehensive hospital enterprise strategies that establish a shared vision for future growth, enhance market positioning, align provider goals, and prepare organizations for regulatory shifts and evolving market dynamics. In the realm of service line planning, she has developed transformational yet implementable plans that drive volume growth and strengthen physician alignment. Her organizational design work includes creating inclusive, physician-driven management and governance structures for large health systems. Additionally, she has introduced novel methodologies for market sizing and referral networks to support aligned providers transitioning to value-based payment systems, designed ambulatory plans to improve care access and address site-of-care payment changes, and facilitated complex health system transactions and academic-community partnerships from initial strategy through negotiation.
In addition to her broad enterprise experience, Sue has a deep specialization in cardiovascular services, having created more than 70 cardiovascular service line strategic plans. A recognized thought leader, she has authored numerous articles on hospital and physician strategy and frequently presents on service line development at national conferences, including the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Healthcare Strategy Institute.
Prior to joining Chartis, Sue worked as a Senior Manager with ECG Management Consultants, Inc. Sue holds a Master of Business Administration from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and bachelor’s degrees in English and finance from the University of Richmond.
