Sudhi Rao, RN, is a Senior Partner in Clinical Transformation. His career in healthcare spans over 35 years, 23 of which have been in healthcare operational consulting with a focus in transformation and financial improvement. He is recognized as an expert in performance improvement and partnering with clients to significantly improve cost, process efficiencies, and develop sustainable strategies across provider operations. Additionally, Sudhi’s clinical experience includes delivering transformational results for clients in supply chain, non-labor services, procedural care services, clinical workflows, and workforce management.
As a tenured leader, Sudhi has worked on multiple large health system engagements, where operational and cost performance were significantly improved. He has directed full-scope consulting engagements to provide services in the following areas: cost improvement, logistics, and strategic redesign for non-labor/supply chain services; capacity management, scheduling, throughput improvement, interdepartmental stakeholder alignment, ancillary services optimization, and overall service line improvement for Perioperative and Procedural services; and workforce, shared services, and purchased services optimization. Sudhi’s extensive experience in financial and operational improvement, combined with his change leadership experience, has been instrumental in developing sustainable solutions supported by performance metrics and interdepartmental service level partnership.
Prior to joining Chartis, Sudhi was a senior managing director for FTI Health Solutions for 13 years and leader of the Non-Labor and Procedurals Services Practice, where he led operational transformations and implemented performance improvement projects. Sudhi also served as a director at Owens & Minor focused in technology and consulting services. Prior to Owens & Minor, Sudhi gained experience in labor productivity and supply chain services at EY and in clinical areas as an administrator and clinical coordinator at Continuum Health Partners (now part of Mt. Sinai Health System) in New York City.
Sudhi received his Master of Public Administration from New York University, and his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bangalore University, India. Sudhi is a Six Sigma Green Belt and a Registered Nurse, member of the American Hospital Association of Resource Managers, and member of the American Nursing Association.
