Scott Magit is a Partner at HealthScape Advisors, a Chartis Company. He brings 30 years of experience, with a focus on the financial and operational relationships between payers and providers. His areas of expertise include provider network operations, payer-provider contractual relationships, fee-for-service and advanced reimbursement methodologies, payment policy, and payment integrity.
Prior to joining HealthScape Advisors, Scott was a Managing Director at Alvarez & Marsal, where he served as a member of the Health Plans and Managed Care practice leadership team. Before that, he spent 10 years with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA) in Boston, where he most recently held the role of Vice President of Payment Strategy and Integrity. In this capacity, he was responsible for the strategic leadership of BCBSMA’s provider reimbursement methodologies, payment systems, payment policies, enterprise payment integrity, enterprise coding, and enterprise medical trend management.
Before joining BCBSMA, Scott led a similar organization at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care for nearly a decade. He began his professional career as a management consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and Ernst & Young (EY), where he worked in their respective National Healthcare Consulting Practices.
Scott holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine and a master’s degree in health systems administration from Suffolk University. He is a graduate of the Executive Leadership Program (ELP), offered through America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) in partnership with Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, and is a Certified Health Insurance Executive (CHIE).
