Rachel Wood is a Partner in Performance Transformation at Chartis. She brings more than 13 years of experience helping healthcare organizations improve operational, financial, and clinical performance. She specializes in leading large-scale transformation initiatives for hospitals and health systems, partnering closely with executive leadership teams to identify, prioritize, and implement strategies that drive sustainable margin improvement and operational excellence. Throughout her consulting career, Rachel has supported more than 200 hospitals across 30+ states, serving academic medical centers, integrated delivery systems, community hospitals, and public health organizations.
Rachel brings deep expertise in cost transformation, workforce operations, perioperative services, patient throughput, and organizational redesign. She has led complex integrated assessments and implementation engagements ranging from operational efficiency initiatives to enterprise-wide financial transformation programs, often overseeing large multidisciplinary teams and advising C-suite stakeholders on strategic decision-making, implementation planning, and change management. Her experience includes labor productivity optimization, operating model redesign, perioperative and emergency department performance improvement, governance and PMO leadership, and development of sustainable management infrastructure.
Prior to joining Chartis, Rachel spent more than 12 years at Huron Consulting Group, where she served as a Senior Director and Integrated Assessment Lead within the Healthcare practice. In this role, she led some of the firm’s largest transformation engagements and developed methodologies focused on cost transformation, labor optimization, and perioperative operational improvement.
Before beginning her consulting career, Rachel worked at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, where she focused on operational improvement initiatives across emergency services, perioperative operations, HCAHPS, Value-Based Care, core measures, and electronic health record implementations.
Rachel received her Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and is based in Atlanta, Georgia.
