Plamen Todorow is a Partner in Strategic Transformation and leader in the Private Equity Advisory practice. He has over fifteen years of experience in strategy, financial, and operational advisory across the healthcare industry, serving academic medical centers, integrated delivery networks, payers, private equity and hedge fund investors, and healthcare real estate investment trusts.
His areas of expertise include healthcare strategic planning, commercial due diligence, mergers and acquisitions, partnership transactions, go-to-market strategy, physician-hospital alignment, strategic options assessments, and service line planning. Plamen also has deep experience in medical devices, healthcare information technology (HCIT), multi-site ambulatory services, and SaaS-based provider enablement solutions, advising on growth strategies and operational transformation in these sectors.
As part of his work with private equity firms and portfolio companies, Plamen has led commercial diligence and strategic planning for investments in SaaS-based RCM solutions, medical device technology platforms, ambulatory surgery centers, post-acute providers, freestanding emergency department real estate, specialty hospitals, third party administrators, medical management, direct to employer solutions, payment integrity, home health, primary and specialty physician practice management companies (PPM), and imaging providers.
Prior to joining Chartis, Plamen was an Assistant Vice President in Kaufman Hall’s Healthcare Strategic Financial Planning Practice, where he advised financial sponsors and portfolio companies on healthcare real estate sale-leaseback strategies, acquisitions and divestitures, and portfolio optimization. He previously served as an Asset Manager for Ventas, a leading healthcare REIT, helping grow the Ardent Health triple-net portfolio to over $2 billion in assets through accretive portfolio acquisitions. Earlier in his career, Plamen held management consulting roles at FTI Consulting, Navigant, and Oracle Health.
Plamen holds a Master of Science in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
