Nicole Fellows is an Engagement Manager with Chartis. Nicole has over six years of consulting experience focused in healthcare with expertise across project management and cross-functional team management. She has worked in data analytics and data visualization for 1115 waiver metrics; Medicaid Adult and Child Health Care quality measures; Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) measures; and access to care. Nicole also has established data governance and data quality frameworks for Medicaid programs, including integration of healthcare system architectures, such as data warehouses, all-payer claims databases, and data lakes.
At Chartis, Nicole works with CAQH on provider directory and credentialing product enhancement to better serve providers and payers by reducing administrative burden while maintaining legislative compliance.
Prior to joining Chartis, Nicole was a senior consultant and project manager with consulting firm BerryDunn in its Medicaid practice. Her recent engagements include implementation of a data warehouse solution and data governance strategy plans using multiple frameworks to tailor solutions for her clients. She has worked with State Medicaid Agencies (SMA), coordinating with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to obtain funding through federal programs and waivers including the creation and tracking of metrics and assisting with a budget neutrality analysis for substance use disorder through an 1115 waiver. Nicole has implemented the Medicaid Information Technology Architecture (MITA) framework to obtain funding, display outcomes, and create roadmaps for continued progress/maturity for SMAs.
Beyond policy interpretation, Nicole worked in Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) for electronic health record systems for Medicaid Programs. She led teams and coordinated between federal partners, state programs and departments, fiscal agents, technology vendors, and managed care providers. While working on her advanced degree, Nicole consulted on telehealth integration for a hospital network.
Nicole earned her Master of Business Administration from the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire, and her Bachelor of Arts in international relations from Bucknell University with academic honors.
