Marco Restrepo

Marco Restrepo is a Partner in Strategic Transformation. He brings over 15 years of in-depth expertise in strategy development, operations and execution, and transaction and partnership formation, including M&A, joint ventures and other strategic investments, and new venture creation. 

Prior to (re)joining Chartis, Marco was a Senior Vice President of Strategy at UnitedHealth Group (UHG), leading strategic partnerships and early-stage strategy across both UnitedHealthcare and Optum. In addition to overseeing the entire partnership continuum—from strategy to diligence and negotiations and execution to post-integration—he covered all sectors, including provider and payer, retail and consumer, technology, and life sciences. During his time at UHG, Marco led the creation of multiple strategic partnerships between UHG entities and health systems, private equity-backed firms, and Fortune 50 companies.

Previously, Marco served as Vice President of Strategy at OptumHealth, a global $100 billion health services and innovation company. In this role, Marco led M&A and strategy development, performance improvement, and new venture creation. This included the acceleration and expansion of core risk capitation models, launch of its behavioral care delivery business, and formation of its 10-year enterprise strategic partnership with Walmart.

Prior to UHG and Optum, Marco has held multiple leadership roles in finance, strategy, and operations across S&S Healthcare Strategies, Texas Venture Labs, JPMorgan, Citigroup, Texas Health Resources, and Boston Consulting Group.

Marco earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin and his Bachelor of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.
