Laura Jacquin is a Partner in Financial Transformation. Laura brings over 25 years of experience working with healthcare providers leading middle revenue cycle and clinical transformation engagements. She has partnered with standalone community hospitals, regional health systems, national health systems, children’s hospitals, and academic health enterprises to improve efficiency, control costs, and drive the highest level of compliant revenue. Specializing in middle revenue cycle performance, Laura is expanding the firm’s capabilities, partnering with organizations to align clinical and revenue cycle operations to maximize outcomes.
Laura has assisted many clients with the implementation of comprehensive clinical documentation integrity (CDI) programs, implementing strategies such as strategic hiring practices, continuous education and training programs and robust measurement and reporting systems. The implementation of sound functional structure drove improved case mix index, more accurate quality profiles, and a significant increase in compliant reimbursement.
Laura led a comprehensive clinical transformation project at a seven hospital system in the Northeast focusing on appropriate assignment of patient status using medical necessity criteria and adherence to payer and compliance guidelines, efficiency of patient throughput to reduce excess days and establishing post-acute care network relationships that supported timely patient discharge.
Laura led an assessment and implementation engagement for a large AMC focused on the Health Information Management operations. The assessment evaluated HIM and Coding Department operations, staffing, productivity, vendor usage, data governance, and documentation quality. Implementation supported HIM program standardization across the organization with a focus on data governance, staffing efficiency, leading practice productivity, and effective vendor usage and management.
Laura led a large-scale engagement that included a cross-functional team, inclusive of representation from clinical operations, physician services, and strategy to develop continuum care methodology. The methodology included the following service offerings; continuum-based care coordination, patient centered medical home, readmission management, population health management, and care variation reduction.
Prior to joining Chartis, Laura was a Managing Director at Harborside Health and Berkeley Research Group. Earlier in her career, Laura was a Managing Director at Huron Consulting Group.
Laura has presented at HFMA and American College of Healthcare Executives on topics such as inpatient and outpatient CDI and optimization of physician practice services.
Laura received her master’s in business administration (Finance) from Uindy and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University
