John Stecker

Partner

John Stecker is a Partner in Financial Transformation. He has more than 11 years of experience in revenue cycle, Epic, and healthcare transformation-based consulting.  His most recent experiences include the oversight and management of numerous EMR implementations, as well as focused revenue cycle initiatives designed to improve patient engagement and physician organization's metrics. 

Prior to joining Chartis, John was the Vice President of Business Development at Chi-Matic. During his time there, he designed and oversaw the execution of marketing and sales strategies to enable significant revenue growth. Similarly, he worked directly with numerous academic healthcare organizations on strategic and tactical projects. Areas of focus included: Staffing assessments, reporting and KPIs, EMR implementations, as well as specific metric improvement plans. John also worked at Epic, where he held numerous internal and external leadership roles focused on Professional Billing and Research Informatics.

John received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Why Healthcare?

I was brand new to healthcare when I joined Epic as a Project Manager on the Implementation Services team. While working at Epic and partnering with numerous healthcare organizations, I began to observe a number of industry-wide opportunities, including access, cost, and efficiency. I enjoy working within healthcare because I feel that each project is an opportunity to improve the patient's experience and the organization's operating model.

What have you found to be the most rewarding part of your career?

The most rewarding part of my role is observing partner organizations as they realize positive results. Whether it is a single metric of focus or an entire organization's operational transformation, I enjoy working with clients to ensure that they realize benefits through any engagement.

One item on your bucket list?

While training for the New York City marathon in 2021, I injured my foot and had to drop out. With that said, I would still love to complete a full marathon one day!
