Hunter Hayes is a Partner in Clinical Transformation. Since beginning his consulting career in 2011, he has focused on employed physician group operations. He is an expert in applying a patient-centric mindset in conjunction with data analytics to drive decision-making for executive leaders.

Hunter has conducted assessments and implementation engagements for multiple clients across the country spanning academic medical centers, community health networks, and privately owned physician groups. Hunter’s expertise in the physician enterprise starts with a patient-centric approach designing, testing, and scaling workflows rooted in impacting patient experience. Whether projects target scheduling optimization, care team deployment, reconfiguring clinical assets across markets, or defining physician leadership responsibilities, the end goal of any health system is to serve their patient population, striving for the highest clinical outcomes and remaining fiscally responsible. He works alongside hospital executives, medical group operators, and physician leaders to co-create action plans that drive immediate results in patient experience, care team satisfaction, and financial improvement. His clients have included MD Anderson Cancer Center, Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, University of Virginia Health System, Trinity Health’s MercyOne Iowa Ministry, Children’s National Medical Center, Catholic Medical Center, Cone Health, Parkview Health, Southcoast Physician Group, and University of Vermont Health Network Medical Group.

Prior to joining Chartis, Hunter was a Senior Consultant for FTI Consulting in the Health Solutions Operational Excellence segment, where he was a team member on multiple physician enterprise performance improvement assessment and implementation engagements. Hunter also worked as a Consultant and Analyst for the Healthcare Strategy Group, where he facilitated hospital strategic planning, drafted fair market value letters for physician compensation deals, and conducted performance improvement assessments.

Hunter received his Master’s in Business Administration from University of Kentucky and his Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Centre College.
