Akshay Jindal is a Senior Partner in Payer Transformation at Chartis. Akshay has over 20 years of experience connecting various intricate elements in healthcare to drive better consumer experience, lower abrasion, and improve health outcomes for members. He is a seasoned executive with deep content expertise across health plan transformation, serving as a trusted advisor to leading national, regional, and Blue health plans, integrated payer-provider entities, standalone provider systems, healthcare ecosystem enablement vendors, new entrants, and P.E. firms.
Akshay has led engagements across the industry to enable sustained growth for health plans through mergers & acquisitions, mega transformations, strategic choices, growth strategy, capability build-out, cost optimization, and digital transformation.
Akshay has guided leading organizations through enterprise transformation efforts to help set a clear strategic direction, identify select differentiators, and enable a new ecosystem that delivers optimal products aligned to consumer needs. These transformations also resulted in a leaner cost model that enabled better margin profiles for the selected way to play in the market.
In addition to his work on large-scale enterprise transformations, he led engagements across market entry, M&A (pre- and post-acquisition), capability build out, sales/marketing, product design, segment transformation, cost takeout, stars, risk adjustment, compliance, and operational effectiveness to create differentiated positioning.
Akshay has spoken at healthcare conferences and board retreats on diverse topics, from the future of healthcare to deep dives in Medicare trends. Clients repeatedly call upon him to help think through and often solve their most complex business problems across the value chain.
Prior to joining Chartis, Akshay was a partner at Oliver Wyman. Before that, he was the Executive Vice President of Transformation and Client Strategy at Ciox Health. He started his career in consulting (progressing from summer intern to Partner) at Booz/Strategy& in Chicago. Akshay spent a majority of his consulting career focused on strategy and large-scale business transformations.
Akshay holds a Master of Business Administration from Ross School of Business (University of Michigan, Ann Arbor) and a Computer Science Engineering Degree from R.V. College of Engineering (Bengaluru [Bangalore], India). Akshay lives in Austin, Texas.
