Today, The Chartis Group, a leading provider of comprehensive advisory services and analytics to the healthcare industry, announced that Jason Abbot has joined the firm as a Principal in the Performance practice.
Mr. Abbot has two decades of healthcare experience spanning inpatient pharmacy operations, military pharmacy operations, and management consulting. He specializes in pharmacy enterprise strategy development; specialty, infusion, and retail pharmacy services operations; 340B implementation and optimization; and pharmacy-based cost savings and revenue acceleration.

Prior to joining The Chartis Group, Mr. Abbot was a Director at Guidehouse, a global provider of management, technology, and risk consulting services. During his tenure there he led the pharmacy consulting team on numerous high-value engagements that helped clients realize multimillion-dollar benefits. Mr. Abbot also led the development of Guidehouse’s pharmacy assessment and implementation solutions.
Before working in consulting, Mr. Abbot served as a clinical pharmacist for 13 years with progressive leadership responsibilities. In addition to managing large clinical teams, he maintained operational oversight of medication inventory management, drug shortage management, and other operational priorities including system-level implementations.
Mr. Abbot is a licensed pharmacist in Iowa and Virginia, a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist (BCPS), and a member of American Society of Health System Pharmacists, American College of Clinical Pharmacy, and Virginia Society of Health System Pharmacy.
He received his Doctor of Pharmacy from Drake University and his MBA from University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
