Today, The Chartis Group, a leading provider of comprehensive advisory services and analytics to the healthcare industry, announced that Greg Harden recently joined the firm as a Principal in the Strategy practice.

Harden has more than 25 years of healthcare experience working throughout diverse segments of the industry, including health systems, hospitals, physician groups, clinical care networks, and post-acute care. His area of expertise includes the alignment of finance and strategy to accomplish organizational goals and achieve optimal financial performance.

“We are thrilled to welcome Greg as a Principal in our Strategy practice. Greg brings practical experiences as a seasoned health system executive in structuring myriad partnerships and strategic growth plans that provide a unique perspective in how to design audacious yet achievable strategies,” said Cindy Lee, Director and Strategy Practice Leader, The Chartis Group. “Healthcare providers have the opportunity to reimagine the patient journey and implement new models for delivering care but navigating what’s next requires a partner with a bold vision and unparalleled expertise. Greg’s addition to our team makes us an even stronger partner to our clients as we help design strategies that will transform their future and shape the industry as a whole.”

Prior to joining The Chartis Group, Harden was Senior Vice President of Finance Operations for Advocate Aurora Health, a multi-state $13 billion health system with locations across Illinois and Wisconsin. In this role, Harden directed Illinois finance operations, including both acute and ambulatory performance, and was responsible for system-wide initiatives such as capital planning, population health, post-acute, financial planning and analysis, financial decision support, and cost management.

Harden has more than seven years of healthcare management consulting experience with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young, and two boutique consulting firms where he focused on strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and financial performance improvement.

“Healthcare is at an inflection point. The pandemic is changing the way care is delivered and challenging the strategy and financial performance of many entities,” said Harden. “Now more than ever, I'm excited to be in healthcare to help organizations navigate this uncertainty, meet the clinical needs of patients, and achieve optimal financial and operational performance.”

Harden earned his Master of Health Administration, Master of Business Administration, and Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Iowa.
