Michael Shenk is a Principal with The Chartis Group. His experience spans over 15 years of healthcare strategic planning, management, and economic analysis, working internally and in consulting roles with academic medical centers, children’s hospitals, fully integrated health systems, and national faith-based health systems.
Over the last eight years, Michael has led client engagements in both strategic and operational initiatives including extensive experience in academic alignment and funds flow initiatives, enterprise-wide strategic planning, partnership strategy development and evaluation, service line development, market and financial projection analyses under an accountable care environment, and inpatient throughput by optimization of discharge planning. He has extensive experience working closely with physician and health system leadership to enhance economic and mission sustainability within the context of evolving strategic imperatives.
Prior to joining Chartis, Michael worked within the Federal Reserve System, conducting economic analysis and research on a wide array of micro and macroeconomic topics.
He holds a Master of Health Service Administration from The University of Michigan School of Public Health as well as a Master of Business Administration from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business. He earned his Bachelor’s from Miami University with a major in Economics.
