David Church is a Senior Partner in Strategic Transformation. David has more than 25 years of experience leading complex strategic, operations, and financial planning engagements for academic health centers, higher education, medical schools, healthcare systems, and physician practices both as a consultant and previously as head of a major academic medical center’s strategic planning office.
His extensive experience working in academic medicine, higher education, and healthcare includes overall and service line strategy and implementation, organizational structure and governance, performance improvement and process optimization, financial planning, academic affiliations and funds flow, research strategy and operations, GME program assessment and planning, new medical school development and accreditation, faculty effort measurement, and productivity and compensation.
Before joining Chartis, David was a Partner in PwC’s Health Industries practice advising leaders within Academic Medicine and Higher Education. Additional consulting roles prior to that included Director and Manager roles focused on strategy and performance improvement at Huron Consulting, Navigant Consulting, and CSC Healthcare. In between consulting roles, David led the strategy and planning office of NYU’s School of Medicine, where he led the development of their enterprise research strategy and management of the faculty recruitment process.
David frequently presents to client executives and has authored thought leadership on a wide variety of areas, including trends in AMCs, higher education, and healthcare. He also has served as preceptor to the Johns Hopkins University Master of Health Administrators program.
David received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and his Bachelor’s degree in History with a French studies minor from Carleton College.
