Chris Carson is a Principal with Chartis' Performance practice. He brings more than 25 years of management consulting, healthcare and physician leadership, and healthcare information technology experience to the firm. He has led consulting engagements with leading academic health, children’s hospitals, and integrated delivery systems in the areas of governance and physician alignment, operational and financial performance improvement, and CART/effort allocation.
Chris’ consulting experience includes 12+ years as a Managing Director for FTI Consulting. During his tenure, he served as the Chief Administrative Officer for an academic health systems’ faculty practice plan leading the development and implementation of a cash-based compensation plan while driving operational and financial performance improvement. He also served as the CAO for an integrated delivery system focused on operational performance improvement and participating in the recruitment and onboarding of a Chief Medical Officer and permanent CAO for the medical group.
In addition, Chris was the physician enterprise lead for Transition Systems Inc. (TSI), the leader in decision support technology, later acquired by Eclipsys. In this role, he worked with leading academic and non-academic health systems around the country to leverage data to better understand the cost of care and drive the reduction in unnecessary variation.
Chris frequently speaks on issues related to physician alignment, performance improvement, and compensation. In 2022, he spoke at both the national and west regional Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) meetings.
Chris received his Master of Business Administration and his Bachelor of Health Services from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida.
