Brian Thygesen

Director

Brian Thygesen is a Director in Strategic Transformation. Brian has nearly 20 years of experience in healthcare serving as a strategic advisor to leading academic health systems, children’s hospitals, and community-based delivery networks. Brian’s primary areas of focus are enterprise strategy formulation, digital care service expansion, physician alignment, and integration, merger, and affiliation assistance, as well as development of accountable care organizations. 

Brian’s recent project experience includes development of an enterprise strategy for a leading regional health system, leading the development of a multi-year enterprise strategy for a US News & World Report Honor Roll Children’s Hospital on the West Coast, which required the creation of a roadmap for extending physical and virtual services to outlying communities. He has also supported several academic health system clients in service line strategies and recent partnership discussions, including the development of a partnership between a children’s hospital and the pediatric enterprise of one of the largest integrated delivery networks in the Midwest. 

Before joining Chartis, Brian worked as a senior manager for the healthcare practice of Kurt Salmon, where he focused on strategic and strategic capital asset planning for healthcare providers. Brian also has experience managing clinical portfolios for two major pharmaceutical companies where he worked closely with physicians to develop and implement sales and marketing presentations for practicing providers. 

Brian holds a Master of Public Health from Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of California, San Diego.
