Melissa Biber is an Engagement Manager with The Chartis Group with over 10 years of healthcare management consulting experience advising academic medical centers and community health systems on various strategic planning and operational initiatives.
Her recent work has focused on developing an integrated strategic plan for a community hospital recently acquired by a major academic health system and facilitating board level strategic sessions to determine long-term vision and enterprise strategic plan for a multi-state health system. She has also focused on developing innovative care models and digitally based solutions that expand patient access and throughput.
Prior to joining The Chartis Group, Melissa was at Deloitte in their Life Sciences & Health Care Practice. There she implemented programs and strategies to improve financial performance in large healthcare organizations, with specific focus in clinical performance improvement, cost reduction, and revenue cycle. Additionally, she has payor and health plan experience from her time working at Mercer.
In addition to her client work, Ms. Biber sits on the Board of Directors for Operation Access, a Bay Area non-profit that provides vital surgical and specialty care to people in need.
Ms. Biber holds an M.H.A. from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a B.S.B.A. in finance, healthcare management, and marketing from Washington University in St. Louis.
