Royce Cheng is a Principal with The Chartis Group. His consulting experience includes strategic planning, opportunity assessment and financial modeling. Many of his engagements have centered on facilitating partnerships among academic medical centers.
Some of Mr. Cheng’s previous engagements include: working with an academic medical center to develop and evaluate its organizational strategy; business case and process for an affiliation with a large regional health system; collaborating with multiple physician groups to structure a clinically integrated network; and advising a leading children’s hospital to establish initial terms for affiliation and integration strategies with a regional community health system to support clinical performance and capital growth. In addition, Mr. Cheng worked with a regional health plan to build a business case and financial pro forma for payor-provider collaboration across multiple market segments. He also facilitated work group sessions with the health plan's CFO to model consolidated profit and loss, reflecting opportunities and investment needs across commercial narrow network, commercial self-insured, managed Medicaid and dual eligible offerings.
Before joining The Chartis Group, Mr. Cheng worked in the strategy group at New York Presbyterian Hospital where he partnered with clinical leadership to develop commercialization pathways for new surgical technologies. Previously, Mr. Cheng developed medical devices and signal processing algorithms as a Systems Engineer for Abbott Diabetes Care where he developed new glucose monitoring and care management products for both clinical and at-home use.
Mr. Cheng holds a Master in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School. He also holds a Master of Science in bio-engineering and a Bachelor of Science in bio-mechanical engineering from Stanford University.
