Glenda Owen is a Principal with The Chartis Group. She is a senior healthcare financial professional with over 30 years of experience in hospital and physician practice revenue cycle operations in integrated healthcare delivery systems. She has provided strategic direction and leadership in the areas of Patient Access, Health Information Management, Patient Financial Services, Revenue Integrity, and Revenue Cycle Process and Systems Integration. She has a proven track record of leading organizations through technology implementations and financial process improvements that resulted in net revenue gains, improved cash performance, increased point of service collections, and reduction of days in accounts receivable. Her work experiences have included academic medical centers, multi-facility/multi-regional Integrated Delivery Networks, and pediatric facilities.
Mrs. Owen’s recent work has focused on leading revenue cycle process improvements, developing the corporate revenue cycle strategy to get to best practice, centralized and standardized EMPI/MRN, Epic implementation readiness and optimization assessments, executive oversight of ICD-10 conversions and advising on revenue cycle consolidations.
Prior to joining The Chartis Group, Mrs. Owen served as Vice President of Finance/Revenue for the Seton Healthcare Family in Austin, Texas.
Mrs. Owen is an active member of Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), and is a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) and Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA). She has presented to HFMA and other professional organizations on ICD-10, Charity Care and Financial Implications of the industry transition from inpatient to ambulatory care.
Mrs. Owen is an honors graduate of Texas Woman’s University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in medical records administration/ health information management and a minor in business.
