Akofa Bonsi is an Principal with The Chartis Group and a healthcare leader with substantial experience leading performance transformation, business development and realignment initiatives in complex organizations. She brings significant expertise in care management, enterprise access, clinical care model development, population health and service line strategy.
Prior to joining Chartis, Akofa was Director of Care Transitions and Case Management at UAB Medicine, where she led enterprise care management and quality initiatives that helped the hospital deliver high-value patient centered care.
In addition to her work in care management, Ms. Bonsi has extensive experience in managed care contracting, ambulatory and inpatient operations, physician engagement and coaching, and innovative public health financing models. Ms. Bonsi is recognized as a national speaker on care model development and has served as an advisor to academic medical centers interested in advancing care specifically focused on care transitions and post-acute network development.
Ms. Bonsi earned her master’s degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and bioethics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She also holds a certificate in Health Quality and Safety and is certified in LEAN process improvement.
