Ann Edwards is a Director and Enterprise Performance Improvement Practice Leader with The Chartis Group. Ms. Edwards has over 30 years of consulting experience delivering strategic, operational and financial improvements for healthcare providers. Her areas of expertise include: organizational design, improvement and effectiveness, financial optimization and strategy including service line and physician alignment planning, as well as pre- and post-merger integration activities in a variety of health care provider settings including academic, teaching and community hospitals, NCI designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers, physician practices and ambulatory care centers. A frequent speaker on healthcare topics and healthcare reform issues, Ms. Edwards also advises on strategic planning efforts and leads business development projects for our healthcare clients.

Ms. Edwards has been an adviser to a broad range of healthcare leaders. Examples of her recent work include: Pre-merger preparation planning for expanding health systems, and post-merger integration implementation including the establishment of an Integration Management Office dedicated to assuring leadership could continually track goal realization across a multiyear execution plan. Ms. Edwards has also advised clients on the evaluation of future state service options particularly during consolidation and rationalization to help them meet their strategic goals. With a particular focus on clinical transformation, she assists clients as they consider changes to their care delivery model; optimizing and leveraging the use of technology to enable more efficient and effective access to and the delivery of quality patient care.

Before joining The Chartis Group, Ms. Edwards was a Managing Director in PriceWaterhouse Coopers' (PwC) Health Industries Advisory practice. As a leader in clinical transformation, she led engagement teams and their clients through significant change initiatives including technology-enabled strategic and business planning for clinical operations and service lines. Before PwC, Ms. Edwards was a National Practice Leader with H*Works at The Advisory Board Company. She spent the first 20 years of her career on the provider side of healthcare; working first as a medical technologist and moving up in various senior administrative roles in the health system.

Ms. Edwards holds a Bachelor of Science from Springfield College.
